Injured Deputy’s Family And Colleagues Donate Blood

HILLSBORO Ore.–   Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Trotter survived a terrible car crash in April that required 90 units of blood.  His family and co-workers decided to give back to others who also may need blood.  Trotter’s wife, Heather was the first to give blood.  Two teenagers died in the crash. Three others went to the hospital.  The car they were traveling in ran through a red light and slammed into Deputy Trotter’s cruiser.  He spent 6 weeks in the hospital.

The deputy out of the hospital now, has a long road to fully recover.  90 complete strangers donated blood the week before the crash.  They saved his life.

Bloodworks Northwest has put together several blood drives in Deputy Trotter’s name.  The idea is to help others who suddenly are faced with life or death injuries. Anyone interested in donating blood in the deputy’s name can do so by contacting Bloodworks Northwest.
