Potential Mass Shooting At The Gorge Amphitheater Averted

QUINCY, Wa.– The Grant County Sheriff’s office believes it stopped what could have been a mass shooting during a concert at the Gorge Amphitheater.  25,000 people were in attendance.  Security and concert goers started calling 9-1-1 around 9 pM Friday night.  They became worried about a man in the parking lot they saw inhale gas from a balloon.  He was also spotted loading two 9mm guns from the trunk of his car.  he put one gun at the rear of his waistband and the other was place in a holster, according to the sheriff’s office.

Also suspicious, was the the fact the man was asking concert goers what time the concert ended and where people would be leaving the event.   31 year old Jonathan R Moody never made it into the concert area.  He was stopped by security outside the gates and disarmed.  He was later arrested on suspicion of one count of possession of a dangerous weapon and one count of unlawful carry or handling of a weapon. All of his actions were taken into account as part of the arrest. He was taken to the Grant County Jail.  Moody will be arraigned today.
