ODOT Removing Hundreds Of Fallen Trees Along The Coast

LINCOLN CITY, Ore–  Teams of ODOT crews were moved from the Manning Maintenance Yard along Highway 26 over to Highway 101 North of Lincoln City where an estimated 400 trees have fallen.  Wednesday’s Winter storm is to blame.

U.S. 101 is closed North of Lincoln City near the junction with Oregon Highway 18 to Neskowin.  An ODOT truck is sanding around the Sunset Rest Area and Quartz Creek.  A 50 mile stretch is being covered.  Plowing is not occurring because it’s too cold and the road is covered with packed ice.  Overall drivers need to anticipate packed ice in the higher elevations of the coast range.
