Long Time Gresham Firefighter Dies During Training

GRESHAM,Ore.– We are saddened to share the sudden passing of IAFF Local 1062 Gresham Firefighter Brandon Norbury. Firefighter Norbury died in the Line of Duty on the morning of February 3rd during a training session. While at training, Firefighter Norbury suffered a medical emergency, was treated on scene and then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced just before noon. Firefighter Norbury was a life long servant to his country and community. After serving his country for 8 years as a Navy Seal, Brandon went on to serve with Gresham Police Department for 7 years and and then with Gresham Fire Department for 15 years. Brandon’s last assignment was at Station 31 in Rockwood where he proudly served the community. We ask that the community keeps the Norbury and Gresham Fire Family in your thoughts during this time.

I had the pleasure of talking with Brandon several times.  He was a neighbor for a number of years.
