West Linn Officer Passes Away Unexpectedly

WEST LINN, Ore.–It is with extreme sadness the West Linn Police Department announces that Officer Ethan Cordry passed away yesterday afternoon, at just 26 years old, after a sudden medical event. Memorial service information will be released when it becomes available.

Officer Cordry began his law enforcement career in 2020 when he joined the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections deputy. Officer Cordry served with MCSO until he was hired by the West Linn Police Department as a police officer on April 11, 2022. Officer Cordry graduated from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in October of 2022 and completed his field training in February of 2023. Officer Cordry followed in the footsteps of many family members who are in law enforcement, including his father, stepfather, and brother, and was very proud to serve as a police officer. Officer Cordry was well-loved and respected by everyone at the West Linn Police Department and in his nearly two years with us, has created an impact that will last a lifetime. His infectious personality and positive spirit will be missed greatly.
