Clark County Sheriff Race Leaves Two of Three Candidates Facing Off

VANCOUVER, Wa. —  John Horch with 45.67%  of the vote and Rey Reynolds with 38.09%  in Tuesday’s Primary Election will move forward to the November election.

Horch is the Chief Criminal Deputy for Clark County.  Reynolds is a Vancouver Police Officer.

John Horch has been with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for 33 years.  He is 54-years-old.  63-year-old Rey Reynolds has been in law enforcement for 38 years.

Some of the issues facing the incoming sheriff include a staffing shortage, low pay and the need for a new jail.  Current Clark County Sheriff Chuck Atkins announced his retirement several months ago.

David Shook received 16.33% of the votes.
