BEAVERTON, Ore.– It took just over a year for Beaverton Police to close in a a large catalytic converter ring. 14 people face multiple felony charges. The investigation began in late 2021 and is still ongoing. 8 locations were searched including a home on the lake in Lake Oswego. More than 3,000 catalytic converters were found. Expensive cars, jewelry and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash were confiscated. The crime ring was centered in Portland, but spanned across 6 Oregon counties.
One of the men arrested, 32 year old Brennan Patrick Doyle of Lake Oswego has been identified by police as the ring leader. He’s said to have trafficked more than 44,000 stolen catalytic converters since 2021. Their estimated is over $22 million dollars.
